The contest, conducted by the AASHTO Subcommittee on Transportation Communication, is the premier communications competition in the transportation industry, and the awards have become a standard of excellence among state departments of transportation. (Sept. 10, 2014) — Surpassing the largest number of nationwide submissions ever received, Global-5 Communications’ statewide marketing campaign for the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) 511 Traveler Information System received the Best of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Award for Best New Innovative Practice in Outreach. Winners were announced on Sept. 9, 2014, at the international ITS World Congress in Detroit.

Orlando, Fla., May 1, 2014 — Global-5 Communications’ PSTA Cares commercial campaign was recently recognized by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts for its creative excellence in producing three Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) television commercials. The commercials, which help promote the safety and security benefits that PSTA offers, were honored with a Silver Award of Distinction in the 20th Annual Communicator Awards.

The Silver Anvil, which recognizes outstanding achievement in strategic public relations planning and implementation, was presented during the Silver Anvil Awards Ceremony held June 13 in New York City.
Global-5 Communications received the 2013 Silver Anvil Award in the marketing consumer services category for its work with the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) 511 Traveler Information System. FDOT’s 511 provides real-time traffic reports on the state’s busiest roadways through a phone system, a website, Twitter feeds and an iPhone mobile application. Global-5 created and implemented a grassroots partnership marketing and media campaign that reached millions, pushed call volumes past the eight million mark and increased awareness by 21 percent.
